Minden, Iowa rebuilds two years after devastating EF-3 tornado

The devastating EF-3 tornado that devastated Minden, Iowa in 2000 has caused a two-year rebuild after a devastating EF3 tornado destroyed nearly half of the town's homes. The tornado killed one person and injured three others. Despite the destruction, residents are optimistic about the progress of their recovery efforts. The community is planning a 150th anniversary celebration for the first time in 2024, celebrating the progress made by the community. The city is also planning a parade of events marking the anniversary of the tornado's destruction.
