The New York City Department of Transportation and the New York Power Authority are partnering to install fast-charging stations at a site with limited charging access and a high concentration of for-hire drivers. The station in Flushing, which includes eight fast chargers capable of charging a vehicle to 80 percent charge in just a few minutes, is the first site to open under the agreement. Additional sites are planned across Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx. The expansion aligns with the goal of reaching net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
