Kanye West ordered to pay former contractor $140K in lawsuit involving Malibu mansion renovation

Kanye West, formerly known as Kanye West, has been ordered to pay former contractor, Tony Saxon, $140K in a lawsuit over a renovation project at the Malibu mansion. Saxon claimed that Ye, who promised to pay him $20,000 per week under a 2021 deal, only provided one payment and $100,000 for constructions costs. The lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court and claimed that Saxon was forced to sleep on the mansion floor while working as a security guard and was fired in 2021 for not complying with Ye's "dangerous requests". Saxon's attorney's called it a mixed verdict, stating that jurors awarded Saxon much less than the $1.7 million he wanted.
