The Orlando Sentinel's Scott Maxwell and Zeynep Portway have both agreed that solving the homelessness crisis requires affordable housing and good wages to address the issue. Portway, the executive director of Samaritan Resource Center in East Orlando, argues that defunding or forcing to relocate the center wouldn't solve homelessness. He also supports the idea of providing homeless with jobs and treatment for mental or substance abuse problems. Funding for these issues can be funded through fair progressive taxation, with those who earn more paying more to fund these solutions. Alissa Plaisance, interim Head of School at The Christ School in Orlando, supports the shift in how we talk about dyslexia, highlighting its unique strengths and ability to transform children's lives. She also notes that the Department of Justice's efforts to punish perceived enemies of the president with spurious actions are harming the public and subjecting individuals to economic punishment.
