Ted Nichols, a legendary composer for Hanna-Barbera, has died at 97 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Nichols composed, conducted and arranged music for iconic cartoons such as The Flintstones, Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!, and Josie and the Pussycats. He also served as the company’s musical director for the last eight years of his tenure. Nichols' music was used on every Scoobob-DOO series through 1985. Nichols was born in 1928 in Missoula, Washington and served as music director of Campus Crusade for Christ. He was married to six daughters and a son, Kevin, Brian, and Tammie.
