The Global Sumud Flotilla, a group of over 70 boats and 1,000 people from around the world, has departed from Barcelona, Spain, with the intention of returning attention to the plight of Palestinians living in Gaza. The flotilla's departure was delayed due to bad weather, but organizers believe it's the largest civilian-led mobilization against Israel's actions in the Palestinian territory. The mission comes less than a year after another attempt to sail near Gaza was thwarted by Israeli authorities. Last year, those sailing were arrested, imprisoned and deported by Israel, leading to worldwide protests.
