The Michael Jackson biopic, "Michael," has had a successful first weekend at the box office, earning $97 million domestically and $217 million abroad, bringing it to an impressive $314 million worldwide. This feat marks the best box office start of all time for a biopic. The film, directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by John Logan, stars Jaafar Jackson, Juliano Krue Valdi, Colman Domingo, Nia Long, Miles Teller, Laura Harrier, and Mike Myers as CBS Records exec Walter Yetnikoff. The success of Michael marks the second-biggest debut of 2026 so far, with the Super Mario Galaxy Movie earning $131 million earlier this year.
