The 2026 World Baseball Classic is set to begin, with CBS Sports highlighting 10 players who are not yet familiar with Major League Baseball. These players, who play in international leagues, are part of the Mariners farm system and are expected to debut for the Guardians in 2026. Other notable players include three former No. 1 overall picks, Bryce Harper, and Paul Skenes, who are also participating. The youngest player in the WBC is 17-year-old left-hander, Contreras, who is the son of José, who has previously pitched in parts of 11 big-league seasons. Jones' professional career has been hampered by injury and poor hitting. Despaigne's performance is familiar to anyone who has enjoyed past WBCs.
