Cole Allen, the White House Correspondents' Dinner shooter, has been charged with using a firearm during a crime of violence and assault on a federal officer with a dangerous weapon. He purchased a Maverick 12-gauge pump-action shotgun from Turner's Outdoorsman in Torrance in August and a Armscor semi-automatic pistol from CAP Tactical Firearms in Lawndale in October 2023. The weapons were stored at his parents' house and regularly trained at a shooting range. Allen sent a manifesto to his family just before the event, calling himself the "Friendly Federal Assassin" and planning to kill Trump administration officials.
