She revealed that the mostly male writer team on 'Friends' was not a picture of a wholesome, innocent time, with many believing the show represented a more wholesome era when it was filmed. However, she admitted that there was a lot of mean stuff behind thescenes, including inappropriate behaviour towards female writers’ assistants, who would pretend to masturbate over Kudrows' co-stars or simulate receiving oral sex from them. The backlash against this article suggests that while KUDrow's outspokenness about these issues is not surprising, it is only a sign of sexism still exists in the workplace. The Trust for Young Women’s Trust has highlighted that 40% of women have been sexually harassed at work, and data shows that women are still twice as likely to face sexism as men.
