Sacramento residents turn to the American River to escape the heat

With temperatures reaching 102 degrees in Sacramento, residents are heading to the American River to cool off and enjoy the summer weather. While air conditioning isn't available at Discovery Park, staying hydrated is another way to combat the heat, with some suggesting drinking water as a means of staying cool. Some children warned of the risks of overheating and potential for sunburn, sunburn or redness. Victoria Gallegos, who was cooling off in the American river, also shared her thoughts on summer activities such as water games and card games.
