The UK government has introduced new rules requiring developers to install heat pumps and solar panels in all new homes across the country. The Future Homes Standard, which will be implemented from 2028, aims to ensure homes are built with on-site renewable electricity generation, most of which is expected to be provided by solar power. The rules also require homes built with low-carbon heating. The government has announced that plug-in solar panels will be available for purchase within shops.
