Maggie Gyllenhaal, a director, actress, screenwriter, and producer, has been named president of the international jury at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival. The decision was made by the board of directors of La Biennale di Venezia based on the recommendation of director Alberto Barbera. The jury will decide the Golden Lion for best film and other awards this year. The event will take place on September 2-12.
