The Nets, who had previously won two consecutive games, were defeated by the Pistons, 138-100 at Barclays Center, marking a return to their tanking ways after a successful comeback in team history. The Nets, which had previously rallied from 23 points down to win in Detroit, played without key players Egor Demin, Day'Ron Sharpe and Ziaire Williams, who were out due to injuries and illness respectively. The team fell to 17-48, and are now fourth in the lottery standings, while Washington's victory over the Wizards helped them move them closer to third-place Washington. Coach Jordi Fernandez credits his efforts to the team's efforts, stating that "trying really hard is the No. 1 thing".
