A shooting incident occurred at the White House correspondents' dinner where U.S. President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, Vice President J. D. Vance, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and other cabinet members were evacuated. The suspect, identified as Cole Tomas Allen, has been charged with felony firearms and assault. The incident occurred outside the ballroom where Trump and his guests were seated.
