An Ohio man, Frederick Harroff, has been sentenced to decades in prison for beating his ex-wife with a baseball bat, strangling her with a rope, and lighting her house on fire. The victim managed to escape the house despite her injuries and contact a neighbor for help. Harroffe, who claimed he did not remember the incident, was found hiding in the woods near his trailer and claimed he was not in the right state of mind due to mental illness. He was sentenced to 39 years in prison to 44 and a half years in jail.
