Major airlines are allowing passengers who missed flights due to long Transportation Security Administration (TSA) wait times during the ongoing partial federal government shutdown to cancel or rebook their tickets free of charge. Allegiant Air has offered a “travel with confidence” guarantee, allowing customers to change or cancel their flights before the end of the shutdown. Delta's waiver is narrow, applying only to passengers at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL). United Airlines has issued a waiver for passengers flying through George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston, Texas. While Southwest Airlines does not have any travel advisories on their website, a spokesperson for the airline said they would rebook passengers on the next available flight at no additional cost.
