Westfield mom documents journey with children with autism

Sarah Kernion, a Union County mother of three, has written a social platform documenting her family's journey raising children with autism. Her two youngest children, Millie and Mack, were diagnosed at the age of two and it took nine months to receive an official autism evaluation and get in front of a developmental pediatrician. This led Kernion to enroll Millie at The Uncommon Thread, a nonprofit ABA provider in Stirling, and she is advocating for a faster process for diagnosis. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention emphasizes that early intervention plays a crucial role in helping children with developmental delays build skills that support long-term success.
