The Miami Marlins defeated the Giants 9-4, largely due to a strong start from Sandy Alcantara and a strong performance from their bats. The win was a significant turnaround for the team, which had lost seven of their first nine road games. Liam Hicks and Connor Norby both contributed significantly to the scoreline. All six players on the pitch had at least one hit, and Alcantar allowed three runs and nine hits over six innings. The victory was also noted for a defensive play by Adrian Houser, who successfully deflected a stray ball from Rafael Devers.
