State agencies across Hawai'i are preparing for another round of severe weather, with state agencies working to prepare for another severe weather event. The Hawai’i National Guard has activated its Joint Task Force, mobilizing 289 soldiers and airmen on State Active Duty, the largest Guard activation since the March Kona low storms. The Department of Health is offering emergency lab testing assistance to vulnerable systems and monitoring for potential disease testing. The state's Department of Transportation is clearing streams, culverts and drains from Kahaluʻu to Kahuku and toward Haleʻiwa, and installing water filter socks along Kamehameha Highway near Waimea Bay to direct water away from a recent slope stabilization area. Several Oʻahu repairs from the March low storms are still underway. The department of Natural Resources is inspecting dams on Maui and O'ahu, and the Department of Land and Land Resources is monitoring dams on both Maui.
