ZDNET's health and wearables editor, Alex Treisman, has found that technology can help him get to bed on time and quickly, without needing an alarm. He uses gadgets such as the Brick, an NFC-enabled device that blocks access to addictive phone apps such as Instagram, TikTok, and Messages. This has helped him reduce pre-sleep doomscrolling, go to bed quicker, and feel calmer upon falling asleep. The Brick can be placed anywhere in your home and can be used to disable these apps. Treisman also uses smart alarm clocks for night activities and is happy with Hatch Restore 3's light alarm for most days. These products are part of a promotion by the Sleep Foundation to celebrate the National Sleep Awareness Week, which runs from March 14 through March 8.
