SXSW has added a new round of programming to its 40th-anniversary edition of the event, which will begin on March 12. The biggest names on the guest list include Alanis Morissette, Jack Johnson, Ty Dolla $ign, Vic Mensa, and St. Vincent. Morisseette will headline Spotify 20: Live at Stubb's on March 14, a showcase marking Spotify's 20th anniversary. Johnson will perform a special set with Hermanos Gutiérrez, the instrumental duo of brothers Alejandro and Estevan Gutiérez, and will co-write the film’s score and single “Hold On to the Light” with Mario Caldato Jr. Mensa will also participate in a featured conference session exploring how music shapes cinematic storytelling. The conference additions include a keynote, Say It Louder: Artists, Activism & the First Amendment, featuring Jane Fonda, Nick Jonas, and a music conference conversation with Radiohead guitarist Ed O'Brien. The 40th edition of SXSW will run from March 12 to 18 in downtown Austin.
