Sean Kitchener, the writer behind a musical adaptation of Steps, Here & Now, has revealed that his time as a student in Norwich influenced his career as a stage and screen writer. The musical, which is currently running at Norwich's Theatre Royal, is billed as a feel-good "party with a heart" musical featuring the group's biggest hits. Kitchener was approached by Steps' management in 2022 to pitch an idea for a jukebox musical. The show follows the story of Caz, a woman who navigates a summer of love with her friends through a decade of marriage. The band was pleased with the response, with the show's reviews and nominations for best new musical.
