The organizers of the Eurovision Song Contest are planning to hold the first-ever Asian edition in Bangkok, Thailand, on Nov. 14. South Korea, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Nepal, the Philippines, Vietnam and more countries are expected to compete. The rules of the new competition have not yet been announced. This move comes as Eurovision has been a topic of controversy in recent years, with Russia being kicked out of the contest due to its involvement in Ukraine and Israel. The Asian version of Eurovision could potentially attract a potential audience of over 600 million people, more than triple the 166 million who tuned in to the most recent Eurovision.
