Euro-area finance ministers have demanded access to Anthropic's AI model, Mythos, which can autonomously find and exploit zero-day vulnerabilities in every major operating system and browser. However, no European government or bank has access to this model, restricted to American tech companies and the NSA under Project Glasswing, while the White House blocks expansion. The model was breached by a Discord group in April. The UK's AI Safety Institute assessed Mythos and concluded that it can discover vulnerabilities in real open-source codebases without human guidance. The White House has opposed Anthropic’s plan to expand access to 70 additional organisations due to national security concerns and limited compute capacity. Spain's economy minister Carlos Cuperro, Vice President Luis de Guindos, called for Europe to consider these technologies in response to the issue.
