Israel has killed Iranian intelligence chief, Ali Larijani, in an overnight strike. This comes as Iran continues its dispute with President Donald Trump over the blocking of the Strait of Hormuz, which has caused global financial and energy markets to tumble and increase gas prices. The news came as Iran and its allies began moving oil through the strait in defiance of Trump's wishes to open the major petroleum artery up to the U.S. The war against Iran began on February 28 to eliminate Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile programs, but Iran has responded by launching strikes on US. targets throughout the Middle East and keeping a stranglehold on the movement of oil. Over a thousand people have been killed in Iran since the start of the war.
