Iranian Parliamentary Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf has stated that progress has been made towards a peace deal, but warned that there is still a distance to a final agreement. This comes as Iran reimposed'strict control' over the Strait of Hormuz, citing a continued U.S. naval blockade. The current two-week ceasefire is set to end on Wednesday. Despite new U.D. proposals being reviewed, no date has been set for the next round of negotiations. The U.K. and France have called for the immediate reopening of the Strait.
