Steven D. Stankovits, a funeral director in New Jersey, was convicted of four counts of wire fraud and one count of false statements to the Social Security Administration over a nearly 15-year period. He lied about his physical disability and continued to work and ski, despite being eligible for disability benefits in May 2010. During this time, Stankrovits worked as a licensed funeral director at two different funeral homes and took long flights to go skiing in Italy, Lake Tahoe, and Park City, Utah. The conviction was announced by the U.S. Attorney's Office District of New Jersey.
