Jasveen Sangha, known as the "Ketamine Queen," was arrested in 2024 after the overdose death of "Friends" star Matthew Perry, who was found floating face down in his hot tub at his home in 2023. Sangha and four others were charged in relation to Perry's death and later pleaded guilty to five federal charges, including providing the ketamine that led to Perry’s death. The case is seen as a new era of accountability for drug dealers following the death of Perry. Legal experts suggest that high-profile cases such as these of celebrities such as Mac Miller, Tyler Skaggs, and Major League Baseball player Tyler Kaggs have played significant roles in deterring illegal drug activities. The rise of drug-related deaths has led law enforcement and prosecutors to adjust tactics to target traffickers and dealers, but even the deaths of a customer can not always deter a drug dealer from selling a product that could potentially kill their customers.
