Logan Turner, owner of Unicorn Farm Nursery and Landscaping in Swannanoa, is set to open a garden shop retail space in the city of Black Mountain with an expected opening date of Mother’s Day weekend. The space, which will host plants from Turner's nursery and will also be open for vendors to sell on consignment, is looking at smaller growers who traditionally sell at farmers markets. The long-term plan is to sell traditional garden shop goods in season and offer classes for the community during these months. Turner also plans to have a pumpkin patch and fall decor, and sell live Christmas trees during the holiday season. He hopes to be a place where locals can go for advice and supplies.
