An Alameda County prosecutor, Alexandra Grayner, claims she was retaliated for speaking out about issues within the county's District Attorney’s Office, including alleged flaws in its handling of welfare fraud cases. Grayner alleges that she was reassigned from her position as a public assistance fraud investigator after raising concerns about the office's handling of such cases. She accuses District Attorney Ursula Jones Dickson of placing her on indefinite administrative leave for continuing to voice her concerns. The allegations were part of a legal claim filed by Grayner in mid-February, a step required before filing a lawsuit against a government entity. The 45-day period for the county to respond to the legal claim expired earlier this month, allowing Grayner to file a lawsuit.
