One person was killed after a driver hit them on Interstate 77 South at around 10 p.m. on Sunday night. The incident occurred after officers spotted a stolen vehicle in south Charlotte. They attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver refused to comply. An off-duty officer witnessed the crash and followed the vehicle down the road. After the crash, two people inside the vehicle fled and one person was hit and killed by another while running across the interstate. The investigation into the incident is ongoing and ongoing.
