A federal class-action lawsuit has been filed against Seattle-based immigration attorney Alexandra Lozano Kennedy and her law firm, La Luz del Camino Legal PLLC, alleging fraud. The lawsuit alleges that the firm targeted undocumented immigrants with promises of legal relief before steering them into costly immigration applications that plaintiffs claim have little chance of success. The proposed class-Action suit could cover thousands of clients across the US. The complaint accuses the defendants of violating the federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO act), breaching fiduciary duties owed to clients, and violating Washington's Consumer Protection Act through deceptive business practices. The lead plaintiff, Maria Guadalupe Diaz Toscano, claims she paid more than $10,000 in legal fees, another $3,000, government filing fees and an additional $1,200 for a psychological evaluation required by the firm. The allegations have surfaced alongside reports that Lozana amassed a multimillion-dollar real estate portfolio and traveled around the West Coast on a pink private jet worth about $25 million.
