Jamie Trumpp, a middle school music teacher from Olathe, Kan. was stabbed to death at a park during a spring break break outing when 27-year-old Kwan Trezvant allegedly attacked her with a knife. The suspect's defense attorneys are seeking to halt all court proceedings pending a mental competency evaluation. Court records show Trezant has a history of criminal activity dating back to 2015, including seven cases including multiple felonies in Johnson and Douglas counties. The Johnson County District Attorney Steve Howe stated that the main issue is to prove that Trezvan intended to kill Trumppel and that justice will be provided for both the victim and the community. The police are working to interview witnesses and obtain as much information as possible.
