Olivia Munn, an actress who was awarded Woman of The Year at Los Angeles Magazine's The L.A. Woman Luncheon, revealed that her best advice from Shannen Doherty during her breast cancer battle was to be as assertive as possible. Munn shared her journey with Doherty, who passed away after a long battle with breast cancer that metastasized to her bones and brain. She urged women to take the Tyrer-Cuzick breast cancer risk assessment test, a tool that helps calculate a woman's 5-year and lifetime risk of developing the disease. Despite having a clear mammogram and ultrasound in January 2023 and a zero percent on her genetic mutation test, Munn found out in April 2025 that she had Luminal B breast cancer in both breasts. She underwent five surgeries, including a lymph node dissection, nipple delay, a double mastectomy and reconstruction, a oophorectomy (to have her ovaries removed) and a partial hysterectomy.
