Two arrested for child kidnapping after taking child to Cuba, allegedly for gender reassignment surgery

Two individuals, Rose Inessa-Ethington and Blue Ineschew, originally from Utah, have been charged with child kidnapping for allegedly kidnapping their child to Cuba for gender reassignment surgery. The alleged kidnapping occurred on March 28, 2026, when the child, identified as the 10-year-old's biological father, but is transgender, was supposed to be returning to his biological mother's custody after crossing the U.S.-Canada Border and taking a flight from Vancouver to Mexico City and another flight from Merida, Mexico to Havana, Cuba. The pair have been accused of international parental kidnapping and aiding and abetting. The child was returned to the biological mother on April 13, ten days after the kidnapping, a Utah court granted exclusive custody of the child.
