The following day, General Motors removed the lights from two of the five 1970s Renaissance Center skyscrapers, causing them to become zombies. The buildings are part of an ambitious $1.6 billion redevelopment plan, which is still awaiting approval from the state legislature. The remaining buildings are expected to be demolished as part of the plan.
