Subaru debuted the Solterra, its first and only electric offering in its nine-vehicle lineup in late 2021, in a compact sport utility vehicle. Despite being well-received due to its sub-standard range and lack of overall appeal, the carmaker has made significant changes for the upcoming 2026 model. Changes include an increase of approximately 25 percent in range, a more attractive fascia, a new spoiler, multi-colored interior lighting, and updated badging. The battery capacity has also been increased from 73 kWh to 75 kWh, its charging speed has increased from 100 kW to 150 kW. The SolterRA also features off-road capabilities and symmetrical all-wheel drive. Despite its subparity, the vehicle's price ranges from $38 to $495.
