Klassen called up for Major League debut in spot start for Johnson

Right-hander Ryan Johnson was called up to make his Major League debut against the Mariners due to illness. The Angels' No. 4 prospect, ranked by MLB Pipeline, impressed during Spring Training and his first start with Triple-A Salt Lake. Despite a 5.22 ERA with 134 strikeouts and 47 walks in 108 2/3 innings across Double-A, and a participation in last year's All-Star Futures Game, Klassen was added to the 40-man roster so the Angels could identify him as their No. 2 prospect.
