Los Angeles content creator Nini underwent a hairline-lowering procedure through transplantation in February, using 2,500 grafts from the back of her head to create a natural-looking, lower hairline that would better frame her face without looking overdone. Despite being satisfied with the results, a rare side effect led to her hair growing out of her transplanted hair follicles and causing gray hair. Dr. Robert Drummond, who has been practicing medicine for nearly 15 years and transitioned into hair restoration in 2021, performed the surgery using the follicles then being transplanted into the recipient area. Nini is still in the healing process but believes the hair around the transplant site, which she believes is post-transplanting, is the cause of hair depigmentation.
