No. 6 Oregon State defeated Hawaii 12-4 in a game at Goss Stadium, but the victory was overshadowed by a potentially costly exit from their ace pitcher, Dax Whitney. Whitney had retired seven consecutive batters before walking off the mound during an at-bat due to an arm injury. Despite this, coach Mitch Canham and the team's training staff quickly removed Whitney from the game. The Beavers had a successful night at the plate, scoring 15 hits. Adam Haight and Paul Vasquez both scored three runs. Oregon State will continue their home series against Hawaii on Saturday.
