Duvier accused Roan of making a judgment call based on information obtained from the hotel, events witnessed in the days prior and the heightened security risk of the location. The incident sparked controversy when Ada's stepfather, Brazilian soccer star Jorginho Frello, claimed that Ada simply walked by Roan’s table and was harassed. Roan denied the allegations and insisted that she did not instruct the security official to approach the two.
