Protestors in Aurora rally in support of workers, immigrant rights in honor of May Day: ‘Today, it’s our turn’

Over 100 people gathered in Aurora for a rally and march in support of workers and immigrant communities on May Day, a national day of action for workers to advocate for workers' rights. The rally was held at Wilder Park in Aurora, with signs reading "Support workers not war" and "Immigrant workers deserve rights not raids". The event was held as a way to recognize the contributions of immigrant communities and advocate for the protection of workers’ rights. It was hosted by a coalition of community, labor and advocacy organizations including Aurora Mutual Aid, Aurora Rapid Response Team, Alliance of Latinos Motivating Action in the Suburbs, Aurora Township Democrats, Indivisible Fox Valley Rising, Illinois Workers in Action and We Can Lead Change Fox Valley. During the rally, community leaders and local officials spoke about the challenges faced by workers, immigrant families and immigrants.
