L-P football revamps nonconference schedule for 2026 season

The La Salle-Peru football team has revamped its schedule for the 2026 season with a new slate of nonconference games. The Cavaliers, who went 2-7 last season, have added Lanphier, Wheaton Academy, Alton and Marquette Academy to their schedule, replacing United Township (5-5 in 2025), Metamora (8-3), and a second meeting with Ottawa (3-6) and O'Fallon (4-5). Coach JJ Raffelson is pleased with the schedule, stating it will give them a good opportunity to compete. The team will open its season against Lanchnier at Howard Fellows Stadium on Aug. 21.
