Attorneys for President Donald Trump and the Internal Revenue Service are in talks to resolve a $10 billion lawsuit over leaked tax records. The parties have requested a 90-day pause on proceedings in the case while they engage in discussions to resolve the matter. The lawsuit accuses the IRS of failing to prevent the unauthorized release of his tax documents by a government contractor, Charles Littlejohn, who shared them with news outlets. Littlejohn admitted to stealing the tax records of thousands of other wealthy people, including Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk. The complaint alleges "reputational and financial harm" from the leak, which led to a report that Trump had only paid $750 in federal income taxes in 2016 and 2017.
