Local apps can prevent double the rate, or even find a driver at all, according to Cara Laban, founder of TravelReddi. The most common ride-hailing app in North America, Uber, is available in many other parts of the world. However, in Europe, Bolt and Freenow can be better choices, operating in 30 European countries and also widely used across Africa. In Japan, where ride-based platforms face regulatory restrictions, use Go for an 80% share of the taxi dispatch market there.
