Swiss food giant, Nestlé, has reported that a truck carrying over 413,000 KitKat bars was stolen from its production site in Italy, setting off one of the strangest consumer-goods stories of the year. The shipment was headed from Italy to Poland and never made it to its destination. Nestlé confirmed the theft in a public statement, stating that the stolen shipment could surface through unofficial sales channels across Europe and if one of these codes appears, the company can be alerted and authorities can be notified. The theft was part of a new KitKat chocolate range for the European market. A meme coin called KitKat, which traded around $0.044, saw a significant increase in trading activity following the news of the theft.
