The San Diego Padres are reportedly close to being sold for a record-breaking $3.9 billion, surpassing the $2.4 billion the Mets received in their 2020 sale. The deal is being negotiated with private equity billionaire José E. Feliciano and his wife, Kwanza Jones. At this point, the Padres would rank fifth in MLB behind the Yankees, Dodgers, and the Red Sox.
