The Japan Sumo Association (JSA) has demoted stablemaster Isegahama, the former Yokozuna Terunofuji, over the incident which occurred during a drinking session on February 21. The incident occurred when 22-year-old Makuuchi-division wrestler Hakunofouji became intoxicated and inappropriately touched the thigh of a woman accompanying a stable supporter. Following the incident, Iseagahama reprimanded Hakunoffam, stating that "you can't just get away with saying you drank too much and don't remember!" before striking Hakunouf twice in the face. Despite this, the JSA has not yet reported the incident to the Compliance Committee.
