The protagonist is portrayed as a child-friendly, relatable character, while the setting, including BREC’s Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center, plays a significant role. The story shifts from being scary to something deeply human. The author hopes the book will inspire children to feel more confident or more prepared for school.
